Can Integrative Sexuality Education be used in a high school?

Chapter 1 is not appropriate for a high school class. This chapter is intended to lay the groundwork for conversations that will continue for years, often decades. Teens need to go through the program with an adult who has a lifetime commitment to their well-being and personal growth. Generally that will be a parent or family member. However, a high school could set this up as an evening activity for parents and teens to do together. Please contact us for information, support, and group rates if you want to run a class. Subsequent chapters might be appropriate for a high school. Join the mailing list for updates.

Can Integrative Sexuality Education be used in a college or university environment?

Yes, as long as all the participants are over 18 and free to leave at any time. Students should not be required to publicly affirm any particular beliefs or share anything they don’t want to share. Please contact us for information, support, and group rates if you want to run a class.

Is Integrative Sexuality Education formally approved or accredited?

No. It’s just a structured way to help people have important conversations about things that matter. Accreditation would imply that there is a correct or incorrect way to have those conversations. We don’t believe in imposing those judgements.

Is Integrative Sexuality Education LGBTQ+ friendly?

When there is specific discussion of sexual intercourse, opposite-sex relationships and same-sex relationships are both included in a value-neutral way. Queer Theory is mentioned as one worldview among many, neither centered nor excluded. Sex is defined by gametes, though the program acknowledges other definitions exist. Gender is discussed only briefly. If a Queer worldview is important to your family, this program is likely to provide areas of contrast that will enable you to understand and express your worldview more clearly. You may also wish to supplement this program with other resources that explicitly center Queerness. Many such resources are in the citations.

Is Integrative Sexuality Education Christian friendly?

Christianity is neither centered nor excluded. Christian worldview is included as one worldview among many. If a Christian worldview is important to your family, this program is likely to provide areas of contrast that will enable you to understand and express your faith more clearly. You may also wish to supplement this program with other resources that are more specifically based on Biblical teachings. Many such resources are in the citations.

Is Integrative Sexuality Education Muslim friendly? Hindu friendly? Buddhist friendly? Jewish friendly? Pagan friendly? Is my religion included?

Your religion may or may not be explicitly mentioned, because the author prefers to avoid mangling a religious tradition through ignorance. However, no matter your faith, this program will likely provide areas of contrast that will help you understand and express your faith.

What about atheist? Is it atheist friendly? How about agnostic?

Yup, that too. There are plenty of intentionally created gaps to fill in your values and beliefs regarding religious and spiritual concepts.

Is it dog friendly? Cat friendly?

No. This program is boring and irrelevant for household pets.

Sure, knowledge is a wonderful thing. Share widely. But please consider coming back to the website and making a donation!

The easiest way to do that is to place a donation item in your cart. The minimum donation is $1. You may adjust the donation by adjusting the quantity of donations.
